Doesn't Work for Honda Timing BeltApr 06, 2012
By A. Muller I bought this to pull out the crankshaft pulley bolt on my 2002 Honda Civic. Unfortunately, none of these bars could handle the torque. Under all the pressure of trying to twist off the crankshaft bolt, the end of the extension bar that inserts into the socket simply snapped off. I will be returning promptly.
I ended up having to go to Autozone to purchase a Duralast impact extension set. Ended up being cheaper than these anyway. The Duralast parts were chrome moly steel (I think), and felt about 300% stronger than these Tektons.
There could be other applications for these Tektons, but the crankshaft pulley bolt on a Honda timing belt install requires more force than these can handle.
