Good for brute force.Sep 30, 2009

I purchased this breaker bar to break loose lug nuts on my car after the garage gorillas use their impact guns to replace wheels after repairs or inspections. Normally I like Snap-On and MAC tools, but they are quite expensive compared to this item. It's always better to use a torque wrench to tighten wheel lugs to the specified torque, which I do if performing my own work. But since my car's under warranty, the dealer does any repairs for free. They invariably overtighten the lugs.
This tool, with its 25 inch length makes it good to overcome the super-tight lugs. Because it was relatively cheap, I can leave it in the garage (good tools are kept in the house in basement) without too much worry. It also saves time because I don't have to get out my impact tools, and wait for the compressor to run up to full pressure just to loosen a few lug nuts. I can pop on a socket and break the nuts loose quickly; the tool works great, and seems well made. For the price, it's hard to beat.
Great for breaking loose stuck boltsDec 22, 2011
By Luci Blace I used it on some hub nuts that were torqued to 250 ft lbs. Also to break free some rusted lower control arm bolts. I was putting enough force into it to flex the handle, but it held up and got the job done. I'm impressed with the quality and the price. It's a hefty breaker bar.
