 Nice set but one problemJan 16, 2012

I received this set for Christmas and the sockets are well made. The only problem I have is the 9/16" deep socket is actually 1/2", it's identical to the 1/2" socket but is stamped 9/16". All the other sockets that I've used are the correct size and other than that one socket this seems a great set for the price.

For the money I don't think you could beat this set. Fits fasteners well, fits drive well and comes with all the sizes you'll need for typical jobs. Finish is good looking but its not that durable. I rubbed through the black oxide while running hub bolts off but no biggie to me. I don't mind if they cut cost on a tough finish and focus on fit. Good set. A buddy of mine bought the set after I showed him mine.

I love my set of Tekton sockets. They will literally cover any mechanic job from your car at home to a $600,000.00 dollar compressor unit. It covers both metric and standard which makes for a huge value not to mention you dont have to haul your whole toolbox out to the site to get the job done. I use these every day at my job and I havent found a flaw yet.

I had some trouble with a motorcycle drain plug. The dang thing got it's head stripped by some chrome standard sockets in my toolbox. So, I grabbed my dremel tool and grinded the head to a size smaller than the original socket. I grabbed one of the Tekton Sockets, hammered it to the bolt (it was still a bit large for the socket but the next bigger socket didn't even touch the bolt), grabbed my breaker bar, got a "good luck" from my neighbor walking by... and CRACK - the bolt came loose! I haven't used it for more demanding applications yet, but I'm sure the Sockets can handle the torque to unscrew truck bolts. And for the price, you CAN NOT beat this set.
The carrying box is your standard heavy plastic toolbox, and it comes with a nice little foam pad to protect the bits. All in all, I highly recommend this set.

I have had this set for years.. My dad and brother too. My dad uses it in an industrial environment every day and has never had one of them let him down. Super deal for great Made in USA quality
