These are well-made and seem to be just what I need. As opposed to the less-expensive kind, these have hardened teeth integral to the pliers, so there's nothing to come loose or lose. They are tight in the joint and seem to be of good steel.

This set has the advantage of giving you four different tools so you do not have to mess around changing tips. The manufacturer claims that these are good for rings up to 2-1/2-inches but that's not realistic. The handles are too small to get enough torque to comfortably spread a large snap ring, the jaws don't open wide enough to make it usable with some larger rings, and the tips are small. Small tips are not a problem when the area right past them gets immediately fatter, but on these, it's close enough in size that your rings could ride up.
These might be ideal for smaller work with rings up to .75 inches, or perhaps a bit larger, and might be a good deal for the price. You get two pairs of internal and external pliers, with both straight and bent tips in each pair. If these were marketed for rings up to an inch, I might have given them four or five stars. But I can't say they are well suited overall if you want a set that will work well with rings in the stated range.
You might wish to opt for Channellock 927 8-Inch Retaining Ring Plier instead. It might cost twice as much depending on the seller, but the money you save by buying this set won't buy you anything if you find yourself needing something better at a later date.

I broke my rule of buying "expensive" tools and bought this kit as it seemed like a good deal.
The very 1st grab of 3/4" internal lock ring broke the pin of the pliers. I was not squeezing hard at all either.
12$ set of tools - not worth my time to send back. Instead of a kit I will buy brand name pliers one by one as the need arises.
The general appearance is cheap and somewhat crude finish - and obviously the material is not worthy of proper tools.
