180 hooks are the bestDec 12, 2010
By Thomas Lee Crane I used a four pack like this for about 20 years, after that I gave them to a low income family to have something to use. I then bought me a new four pack at Home Depot that, at the time, I did not look at how the hooks were made. The hooks from Home Depot did not have a 180 degree hook and the first time I used them they came loose and got under my tire on the trailer and damaged my lawn mower and destroyed the strap. The second time I used them they came loose again and hit the road and beat my light till it broke my light on my trailer. So I am going to take what is left of that set back to Home Depot for my money back. This set that I have bought from Amazon is made correct with the hooks looping all the way around back in a 180 degree and will not come off or loose, the same type that I used for 20 years with good service. Always buy straps that have hooks like this set shown. Do not buy any that has the hooks that do not loop all the way back because if you do when you ratchet it down it causes the hook to move and will be near the end of the hook and come loose and the item that you was wanting to be secure will be damaged. Ugh... these are cheap, bare-bones, wimpy strapsOct 06, 2011
By B. Platt I'm seldom willing to write a review for an Amazon purchase, but every once in awhile something is so great--or so awful--that I can't help but take the time. This is one of those times when the product is so awful. These straps are cheaply constructed, have very lightweight webbing, and look like they are likely not to last all that long. If it wasn't such a hassle to return things, I would definitely do so. In short, I highly, highly recommend that you look elsewhere. Even the cheapest straps at your local hardware store will be better than this junk.
