This could have been so much more!
All they would have had to do was make the body with flat edges to get a box-end around to stabilize it. The angle was so well thought out it seems a shame they didn't finish the job.
The application I had was restoration of a 1928 Model A, so you can imagine the number of "opportunities" I needed to use this on! It worked fine but was far more trouble to use then should have been necessary. The ability to get into tight areas between channels was priceless. The other 'nut crackers' would not have worked.

This nut cracker seems to be serviceable for the DIY market. There is a caution on the packaging which warns against using it on heat-treated nuts.
The frame has a small bulge which can be used to brace when applying pressure but I would have preferred a hex so that I could apply a wrench . The threads are not particularly smooth, turning the threaded portion is not slick.
I haven't used this tool enough to gauge the durability but for the price, I would say that I got my money's worth.

I bought this to split a non-heat treated nut on my car. It was the maximum size this splitter was supposed split. It barely made a scratch before the tip of the splitter folded. I threw it in the garbage the next day.
