Hoist works, but pull-chain has a tendency to snag. A minor irritation in my case.

I'm pleased with my order but it did get tangled due to loose packaging and it took me a while to get it working. Once the chains get twisted and loose within the gears it's hard to work it straight again. Once working it does a great job for the money. I'm happy.

The 1 ton chain hoist that I received was in perfect shape and worked great right out of the box. I love it and use it at least once a week. I would recommend this 1 ton chain hoist to anyone.

Shipping cost was high as expected for a heavy item, but the packaging was extremely inadequate, which resulted in receipt of a very banged up hoist. It looked so bad I have suspicion I received an abused item that was returned. Since shipping back was almost half the cost, I banged it straight wiped it clean, and kept it.
It most certainly works as expected very soft movement. just lifted a 200+ motor out of a jet boat and it proved it's worth. Would have paid twice what it cost. Not 5 stars because of the botched packaging and item arriving with bumps and bruises. Would buy again in a heart bit.

"Caveat emptor!"
The chains a a bit small and can easily get tangled in the orange metal cover. For $20, what is to complain about though? I suggest checking out chain blocks via google, they seem to be a bit more robust, though cost $100, it may be worth it.
