3" Throat. A bit pricyNov 24, 2010

Actual inside opening (from web to screw) is three inches (3"), not 4-1/2" or 5-1/8" For instance, it would not go around a three and a half inch object; this is why the other reviewer had problems clearing his stock.
The quality is good for China, but there was some flaking of the screw chrome
that I had to sand off of T handle and the chrome quality was terrible.
Note: I believe manufactures actually advertise throat opening to center line of
screw which would add another 1/4" to the 3" measured.
