A very nice ratchet screwdriver with almost ever imaginable bitJul 07, 2011
By Dennis Bell I bought this set when looking for screwdriver bits that would work with the various kinds "security" screws and have generally not been disappointed. I say generally because I did have a problem with the first screwdriver handle in that the tiny ball bearing and magnet that hold the bit in place fell out so the bits would not stay in place.
I called/emailed the manufacturer (Michigan Industrial Tools), after seeing the quality guarantee on the product packaging, to explain the situation. I would have been happy to simply get the missing ball bearing and magnet but they sent me a completely new set instead. (Kudos to a company that stands behind their products!!)
I gave the product 4 stars only because of the problem described above, but would still recommend this to anyone. Just keep an eye on those pieces I spoke of.

Everybody needs one of theseFeb 16, 2011
By Rob I bought one of these for myself and I'm about to buy 2 more for my dad and dad-in-law. There have been a number of times where I'm over at one of their houses working on a car or something and I need a bit and my dad doesn't have the one I need, but I know I do at home (in this set). The bits alone are worth the price they want for this set but the driver is not too shabby either. More about the bits though: they're not much to talk about...pretty standard bits except of course you have almost all of them in one box. I haven't had it long enough to say anything about rust, but in my experience, even the "good" ones get rusty after a while. I think you would have to buy some platinum ones or something if you really wanted them to not rust (but rusty bits work pretty much just as well as any other for the job so who cares). Anyway, about the driver. The driver feels like it's pretty darn sturdy in construction. I have had ones where the mechanism inside wears out and the whole thing becomes unusable....I can't say for sure on this one how well things are built on the inside, but based on feel alone I think it will hold up well enough over time and use. I do wish that the handle had a rubber grip because the plastic on it is very smooth. If your hands get greasy then you will have a hard time gripping this. If that becomes a problem I may try to find a rubber grip that I can buy, or just take a file to the sides and rough it up (which would be sad since it's a nice looking tool). Although you can lock it to not ratchet at all, you will still want to keep your trusty ol standard drivers nearby for certain tasks. There are certain things that you may do that you just need a strong, straight driver for. There are included adapters in the box that will allow you to attach sockets to it, which comes in really handy. All in all, this is just a great set of bits with a bonus ratcheting driver, a set that I think everyone ought to have in their tool chest.
FYI the picture on this page shows a bright orange driver with bright orange box. Mine was candy apple red in a black box. Same manufacturer stamped on it and exactly like the picture otherwise. I wanted it in red anyway, but if I order another I can't be sure of which I will get since the color pictured is not what I received.

Great set, and the bearing is 1/8 inchOct 05, 2011
By Ran Prieur I'm very happy with this, except for the ball bearing problem that other reviewers have mentioned. Somehow it fell out, I couldn't find it, and without it the bits don't stay in. So I pulled out my collection of bicycle ball bearings, and an eighth inch bearing fits perfectly. You have to take the black metal band off, fit the bearing in from the outside of the hole, then put the band back on with the hole lined up over the bearing. I still recommend this product - just know where your local bike shop is.

Good set.Oct 13, 2011
By JWedding This is a very complete set of bits. The ratcheting screwdriver is plastic and feels cheap yet has held up well enough so I cannot complain. I work in oilfield service and all my tools live through harsh conditions. For this price I would nearly consider this a disposable set yet it has held up well and is still serving me well to this day. I have only broken one bit and that is driving it with my 1/4 inch drive impact wrench. There are obviousEly higher quality sets but I give five stars for the quality at this price.

This is a very good product.Dec 27, 2010
By Jack (NMI) Stecker I just got mine in. I really like it with a few exceptions. The case is has a very large footprint. I am use mine for lock work. It takes up a little too much room in my tool case. Had to put it in the big bag. I also wish they put a longer extension in the kit. One that is not held by a magnet.
