I am a framer by trade and use a 22 ounce steel hammer for that. Bought this hammer for my son and have found me using it more than him. Love the way it feels and balanced really good. Can't beat the price either. Someone said it was easily broken. Don't know what they were doing with it, but this handle is made of Hickory, VERY hard to break, he must have missed the class on hammers and how to use them
