5Unusual use, but a great find for the PTR 91 sight!Nov 04, 2011
By J. Aguilar
Ok, so I'm not snapping rings onto widgets and doohickeys, but I'll tell you what these are really great for. The rear sight of a PTR 91, that's what. Buy these at about 1/10 the cost of the US made rear sight adjustment tool and you won't be disappointed.

The nubs on the end of these pliers fit snug into the engagement slots and bingo, you can easily change the elevation in the field or at the range. I chose these instead of the internal snap ring pliers for two reasons... one I have actually applied and removed snap rings in the past with a screwdriver and lots of futzing around and thought these would be more useful because I've really only encountered external snap rings, in the rare instances I've had to deal with these; and two, I thought the design would work better for engaging the locking tabs of the sight.

Honestly the internal ring pliers would probably also work for the sight, but I KNOW that these work, so I am very pleased at saving lots of money (I think the HK tool costs about $70).
