A good tape measureJul 09, 2012
By Noname I bought the Tekton Tape Measure after my Stanley Tape Measure literally fell apart. The Tekton feels more compact than the Stanley. It's lighter in weight, with a plastic and rubber housing instead of metal. The tape measure fits nicely in my hand and the rubber makes it sturdy to grip.
The markings are easier to read than most tape measures. Fractions are written out every 1/8". Graduations are 1/16".
I like how the thumb lock can control the rate of retraction.
This product has a lifetime replacement guarantee, but the tape measure must be sent back to the manufacturer with the original receipt and return postage prepaid. That's something to consider. It's not worth the money and hassle for most people. I suspect Tekton is aware of that.
Even so, I like this better than the Stanley. I'd buy it again.

Broken on First UseOct 28, 2011
By K. Berry I would absolutely not recommend this tape measure. On the very first use of the tape measure, it broke. The retracting feature of the tape measure stopped working meaning that the measure tape would not retract back into the holder (the lock and quick stop were NOT engaged). I pulled more of the tape measure out in hopes to trigger the retracting mechanism - no such luck. So now I have a tape measure that has approximately 20 feet of tape that will not retract (automatically or manually) back into the holder. Don't waste your money.

Cheap, don't orderAug 19, 2012
By JT Probably on about the 3rd of 4th use ever when I extended it out about a foot it would keep retracting. I ended up having to use one hand to hold the tape out also to use it. It was cheap and worth a try, but I guess there is a reason it was cheap. Don't waste your money here

Decent tapeDec 29, 2011
By Averkil I do quite a bit of at home wood working and this tape is a pretty good tool. The small tape stop button broke off within the first day i had it but the main slide stop still works so its still functional.

Wow - By GollyJan 23, 2013
By H. BURGESS This tape perfectly measures out inches. Just like every tape measure out there!
It is an easy pull and keeps a steady line out to about 8 feet. Sorry, I just can't find a gushing comment about a tape measure.
This one works.
