I was looking for a dust mask that would be more comfortable than either of the styles of dust masks available at every home improvement store: the all-paper masks and the masks that have a tiny plastic vent in the front and a slim rubber flange over the paper flange around the edges. However, those two types of masks are heavenly comfortable compared to these Tekton masks. The Tekton masks look in the photo as though they might have well-cushioned edges, but instead, the edges are semi-flexible plastic (like milk-jug plastic) covered with a thin layer of cotton stockinette. The mask is very small, so it digs in everywhere. Over the nose, the mask doesn't adjust, so it hurts and leaves a gap on either side through which your lungs will suck air. Someone with a very fleshy face might find the lower portion okay, but it's difficult for me to imagine the nose area working for many people.

I bought this item to protect my breathing against the dust generated at my lathe when turning woods and acrylics to make my pens. I was looking for a device which wouldn't fog my safety glasses, but this failed at that. It may be a good filter though, but did't fulfill my expectations.
