Screw holding screwdriverAug 06, 2009

For an excellent idea in screwdrivers was surprised how hard these were to find. Went to at least 5 local hardware building supply centers (Ace, Home Depot, Lowes, even Sears) and no one carried this type of screw driver that holds screw to drive end. Everyone said to use magnetized srew driver - doesn't work for aluminum screws. Had a situation where I had to insert screw into a hole from up above with no clerance to hold screw in place to get it started. This screw driver did the job. I had several of this type at one time - but as usually happens when I really needed one it was no where to be found.
As I said this screw driver did the job. However, it is pretty flimsey so don't expect it to hold up to much use. Considering I didn't pay but about $3.00 for the pair it was about what I expected. As I said it did solve the immediate probelm. Plan to look for a more sturdy set so will have them next time I need one - that is if I can find it.
Bottomline - if you want cheap buy it. If you expect it to hold up over time get a more substantial set.
