Great tool for very low priceApr 19, 2011
By Low Carb Queen Bought three of these because I had several Seville Classics SHE14305 Home Style Mobile 5-Shelf Storage System, Chrome which had to be put together and I thought it would be more efficient for folks to have more tools than to just be standing around waiting to use the rubber mallet. I'm doing some very serious organizing.
There's enough weight to this mallet to give the heft you need yet the rubber cushions the surface you're hitting. Definitely non-marring. I like the covered handle too, in case your dainty little hands might get blisters; good grip. Fits both a woman's and a man's hand.

Waste of money - Head flies off after a few swings!!!Aug 22, 2011
By timgator I used this mallet exactly one time before the rubber head completely detached from the handle. No abuse or anything -- I only used it to tap my wrench to tighten and loosen the bolts on my tires and brakes on my car. The first time I used it, I thought it would be one of my favorite new tools. The second time I used it, which was only a few days later, I nearly damaged my car and the rubber head almost bounced back and hit me. I love Amazon, and I have placed 61 orders for hundreds of items THIS YEAR ALONE, but I cannot leave a positive review for this rubber mallet. It was a good price under $9 (nine) bucks with Prime shipping and it had a couple 5 star reviews when I bought it, but it really is not worth more than whatever you would pay to use it exactly one time.
TEKTON 3165 16-oz. White Rubber MalletFeb 03, 2012
By R.B. Made of hard rubber - this is no soft rubber mallet.
Its much heavier than my last wooden handle soft rubber mallet, but its about 1/3-4 the price.
I use this as an everyday work tool, though I do not use it everyday, its still getting beat up in my tool bag.
That soft rubber mallet I had was much more expensive but lasted a few years and probably would have lasted a few more if it wasn't stolen. With this one, the rubber has begun to split in half. Its been that way for a few months or more. So, it will obviously crack in half at some future time. That said its still going strong.
An interesting note, is that I prefer this mallet over the other more expensive one as it doesn't bounce back in my face as well as hitting with more force. If you need the opposite then this mallet may not be for you.
It gets 4 stars, as in the end, I like it and would buy another when needed.

This item arrived quickly and as stated. Good price for the item. I gave it as a gift and have had no complaints thus far.
it's a freakin rubber malletNov 15, 2011
By U2Guy Works good... bought it because of the steal (not wood) handle. The mallet head did pop off (as other's have complained) after a few days of use setting flagstone. Easily glues back on... not that big of a deal.
