Solid heavy duty steel. The paint isn't glopy. If I didn't know better I would say they had somehow just made black steel... The claw seems to fit into small hard to reach places and the wedge part is just sharp enough to get the job done without really being to sharp. I got it for all together $3.22. And with free shipping its even better.
